Poets can join a single month, return whenever inspiration strikes, or receive a new challenge each month automatically.

With every month standing alone, you can choose the theme that resonates with you - or work through the entire year to create multiple chapbooks and refine your voice with consistent, seasonal writing. This challenge is flexible, supportive, beginner-friendly, and designed to help poets grow, finish their work, and publish confidently. Whether you’re writing your first poem or your fifth book, the 20 Days of Poetry Challenge gives you the structure to create, the inspiration to keep going, and the professional support to turn your poems into a finished book you’re proud of.

How the Challenge Works

Step One - Choose Your Month
The month you choose is your start date. Your start date begins on the beginning of each month. Each month has its own theme and prompt list.

Step Two - Write Your 20 Poems
You choose which 20 days of the month to write. Depending on the month, you’ll have 8-11 free days.

Step Three - Turn Your 20 Poems into a Chapbook
You can self-publish on your own or, with tier 2 and 3, we can format, design, and upload your finished book to your Amazon KDP account (you can move onto the next month without doing any of the publishing work.)

Includes everything in Tier 1 PLUS:
- Professional manuscript formatting (title page, copyright page, content, page numbers, about-the-author page)
- Cover design (basic, but unique design from stock images or your own photos)
- Your book uploaded and published on your Amazon KDP account
  - Your book becomes available on Amazon the day you choose to release it (that day or a scheduled date)!
  - You keep all of the rights and royalties! We just create your book and help you self-publish.

Do I have to write every day?

No! You choose any 20 days of the month that fit your schedule to write your 20 poems. The challenge is designed to be flexible, so you can write at your own pace without stress. If you’re feeling a burst of creativity, you can even write multiple poems at a time.

Do I have to publish my book?

No, you can participate just for the joy of writing and completing your 20 poems. You’ll want to choose Tier 1: The Writer.

Can I write more than 20 poems?

Absolutely! But we’ll only include a max of 30 in your chapbook (should you choose Tier 2 or above).

Can I join for just one month?

Yes! Each month is self-contained, so you can enjoy a single month.

Can I join mid-month?

Yes! Choose the month that you want the prompts, guides, and resources for. Once you enroll, you’ll get instant access to them. You can choose any 20 days from the remainder of the month to write your poems. If there aren’t enough days left to finish all 20, you can continue the prompts into the next month - this way you don’t miss out on a favorite theme.
