Over six months, you'll write, revise, build your author brand, prepare your manuscript for publication, launch your book, and celebrate becoming a published author.

How It Works
Authors in Bloom is a six-month guided writing, branding, and publishing experience designed to take you from a blank page to a published poetry collection. The live portion of the program takes place throughout the spring, where you'll spend three months writing, discovering your unique voice, building your author brand, and completing your manuscript alongside a small community of fellow poets. From there, we'll shift into the publishing process: revising your collection, receiving personalized feedback from Christopher Poindexter, professionally formatting your book, uploading it to Amazon KDP, ordering your proof and author copies, and preparing for launch. By the end of the experience, you'll have more than a completed manuscript, you'll have an established author identity, a professionally published chapbook, and the confidence to share your work with readers. Every phase is thoughtfully designed to guide you through the journey of blooming into the author you were meant to become.
Month 1: March
Plant 🌱 Discover Your Voice
Every book begins with a single page, and every author begins with a single decision to write.
March is all about laying the foundation for your journey as an author. During this month, you'll begin building a consistent writing habit while discovering your unique writing voice and the kind of author you want to become. You'll receive daily poetry prompts, weekly educational lessons, and exclusive access to our private Authors in Bloom community, where you'll connect with fellow participants, ask questions, share your progress, and receive encouragement throughout the program.
You'll also begin developing your author identity through our Author Brand Guide and Author Brand Questionnaire. Together, we'll explore your writing themes, ideal readers, visual aesthetic, social media presence, and long-term goals as an author. By the end of the month, you'll have a solid collection of poems underway, a clearer understanding of your creative voice, and the foundation of your author brand.

Grow 🌿 Build Your Collection
Now that you've found your rhythm, it's time to grow.
April is dedicated to expanding your manuscript. You'll continue receiving daily writing prompts while learning how to write a poetry collection rather than just individual poems. We'll discuss recurring themes, imagery, symbolism, titles, organization, and how to create a collection that feels cohesive from beginning to end.
You'll continue strengthening your author brand while writing consistently and discovering what your book wants to become.
By the end of April, you'll have a substantial body of work and a much clearer vision for your collection.
During April, you'll:
Continue writing new poems every day
Expand your manuscript
Learn how poetry collections are structured
Explore recurring themes and symbolism
Brainstorm potential book titles
Strengthen your writing voice
Continue building relationships with fellow writers

Month 3: May
Bloom 🌸 Complete Your Manuscript
This is where your manuscript comes together.
During May, your focus shifts from creating new work to finishing your collection. You'll complete your remaining poems, revisit earlier drafts, begin editing, and organize your poems into a complete manuscript.
You'll learn how to determine which poems belong in your collection, which poems may need revision, and how to arrange your work to create an intentional reading experience. You'll also begin thinking about your final title and prepare three poems to receive personalized editorial feedback from Christopher Poindexter.
By the end of May, your goal is to have a completed first manuscript.
During May, you'll:
Finish writing your poetry collection
Revise and strengthen your poems
Learn self-editing techniques
Organize your manuscript

Choose a working book title
Submit three poems for Christopher Poindexter's feedback
Prepare for the publishing phase
Month 4: June
Cultivate 🌼 Refine Your Collection
The writing may be finished, but your book is just beginning.
June is devoted to refining your manuscript and preparing it for publication. Using the feedback you receive from Christopher Poindexter, you'll revise your selected poems and make any final adjustments to your collection.
We'll guide you through assembling your final manuscript, including poem order, your title page, dedication (if desired), acknowledgments (optional), and your About the Author page. During this month, Jack Wild Publishing will also begin designing your professionally formatted book interior and coordinating your cover design.
During June, you'll:
Receive Christopher Poindexter's feedback on three poems
Complete final revisions
Finalize your poem order
Write your About the Author page
Add optional dedication and acknowledgments
Submit your completed manuscript
Begin professional interior formatting
Begin book cover design
Month 5: July
Pollinate 🐝 Publish Your Poetry Collection
Your manuscript officially becomes a book.
During July, we'll prepare your files for publication through Amazon KDP. We'll upload your interior and cover files, complete your book's metadata, review your Amazon listing, and guide you through ordering your proof copy.
Once your proof copy arrives, you'll carefully review every page before approving your book for publication. You'll also order your author copies and begin preparing for your launch.
To help you confidently introduce your book to the world, you'll receive a complete launch toolkit filled with marketing resources.
During July, you'll:
Upload your book to Amazon KDP
Review your Amazon book listing
Order and review your proof copy
Make any final corrections
Approve your book for publication
Order discounted author copies

Month 6: August
Harvest 🌼 Celebrate Your Book Release
It's time to celebrate.
After months of writing, revising, editing, designing, and preparing, your poetry collection is finally ready to meet the world.
During August, you'll officially launch your book and celebrate everything you've accomplished. Jack Wild Publishing will help you coordinate your launch, share your book across social media, and celebrate your achievement alongside your fellow Authors in Bloom participants.
We'll also host a virtual Authors in Bloom Book Release Celebration where every participant has the opportunity to introduce their book, share their journey, and celebrate becoming a published author together.
During August, you'll:
Officially publish your poetry collection
Launch your book on Amazon
Celebrate your release with the Authors in Bloom community
Participate in our virtual Book Release Celebration
Share your launch using your personalized marketing materials
Begin your journey as a published author
By the end of August, you won't just have written a poetry collection, you'll have built an author brand, published your first (or next) book, and joined a growing community of Jack Wild Publishing authors.

All deposits are non-refundable and reserve one of our limited spots in Authors in Bloom.
Payment plans are available to make the program more accessible. By selecting a payment plan, you agree to complete all scheduled payments regardless of participation or completion of the program.
Because Authors in Bloom includes digital resources, educational materials, personalized services, and a reserved place in a limited-size cohort, all payments are non-refundable.
