Our writing retreat is set in the picturesque Hocking Hills region, renowned for its natural beauty and tranquil surroundings. The retreat venue, a beautifully restored Victorian farmhouse, is nestled amidst rolling hills and lush woodlands, just a short drive from the famous Old Man's Cave. This serene and inspiring setting offers the perfect backdrop for creativity and reflection, providing a unique blend of historic charm and modern comfort.
Transportation
Whether you're driving or flying in, reaching our retreat is convenient and straightforward. The location is easily accessible by car, and we recommend using a GPS for the best route guidance. For those flying, rental cars are available at nearby airports to facilitate a smooth journey to the retreat.
Driving Directions:
From Columbus, Ohio: The retreat is approximately a 1-hour drive southeast. Take US-33 E and follow signs to Logan/Hocking Hills.
From Cincinnati, Ohio: The retreat is about a 2-hour drive northeast. Take I-71 N to US-35 E and follow signs to Hocking Hills.
From Cleveland, Ohio: Expect a drive of around 3 hours south. Take I-71 S to US-33 E.
Parking: Ample parking is available on the retreat property for all attendees.
Airport Information
For those traveling by air, the nearest major airport is John Glenn Columbus International Airport (CMH), located approximately 1 hour from the retreat venue. This airport offers a wide range of domestic and international flights, making it a convenient choice for guests from all over.
Airport to Retreat Transportation:
Rental Cars: Available at the airport, rental cars are the most convenient option for reaching the retreat. Major rental companies operate within the airport, and advance booking is recommended.
Shuttle Service: For those flying in, we offer an optional shuttle service to and from the airport (additional cost applies). Please contact us to check availability and schedule your ride.
Ridesharing: Services like Uber and Lyft operate in the Columbus area, but availability may vary in rural areas. We recommend checking availability and rates ahead of time.
Driving Directions from John Glenn Columbus International Airport (CMH):
Exit the airport onto I-670 E.
Merge onto US-33 E towards Lancaster.
Continue on US-33 E following signs for Hocking Hills/Logan.
Follow local directions to the retreat location.

The Book Nook Room
Upstairs, the Book Nook Room beckons with its tranquil ambiance designed for leisurely reading. Complete with a plush queen bed and a comfortable reading chair bathed in soft lamplight, it’s an ideal sanctuary for guests looking to unwind with a good book.
The Writer’s Room
Also upstairs, the Writer's Room provides a dedicated space for creative minds to flourish. Featuring a queen bed and a spacious desk overlooking the natural surroundings, it offers writers and artists a peaceful environment to cultivate their craft.
The Bunk Room
Perfect for those who relish community and camaraderie, the Communal Bunk Room upstairs accommodates up to four guests in two queen-sized bunk beds. This shared space fosters connections among retreat attendees, making it an excellent choice for those seeking a social experience.
